AllerAlerts helps you screen meals for allergens using a dish database and AI analysis. Please read what the app can and cannot do.
This app is not a medical device.
It provides risk estimates only — it does not physically test food and never confirms a dish is allergen-free or safe to eat.
AI and database results can be wrong. Always verify with restaurant staff and always carry your prescribed emergency medication.
What AllerAlerts does:
Looks up dishes in a crowd-sourced database, applies allergen keyword rules, and uses Claude AI to estimate which allergens may be present based on typical recipes for that dish.
What AllerAlerts does not do:
It does not test actual food. It cannot account for cross-contamination, local recipe variations, undisclosed additives, or changes made by any specific kitchen on any specific day.
Your data:
Your allergen profile, emergency contacts, and test history are saved to your account (if signed in) and synced across your devices. GPS coordinates are only used with your permission, only for location context.
I have read and I understand the limitations of this app. I agree to the
Terms of Use & Privacy Policy
and I accept full responsibility for all food decisions I make.

Medical Disclaimer
Effective date: April 12, 2026
AllerAlerts is not a medical device. It has not been approved or cleared by the FDA, Health Canada, the EMA, or any other regulatory body.
No Guarantee of Safety
Results provided by AllerAlerts — including dish risk assessments, menu scan results, strip test interpretations, and community reports — are estimates only, based on a curated dish database, keyword rules, AI analysis, and user observations. None of these constitute laboratory testing of actual food.
Allergen content can vary based on restaurant preparation, cross-contamination, ingredient substitutions, regional variations, and labelling errors. A "Low Risk" result does not mean a dish is free from your allergen.
Strip Test Clarification
AllerAlerts does not manufacture, supply, or calibrate any allergen test strip or testing device. Strip test results recorded in the app are based solely on observations entered by you, the user. AllerAlerts accepts no responsibility for the accuracy of any physical test strip or testing device used.
Always Verify in Person
Ask restaurant staff about specific ingredients and cross-contamination risks
Read food labels carefully on packaged foods
Inform the chef of your allergy when ordering
Always Carry Emergency Medication
Always carry two epinephrine auto-injectors at all times. Follow the allergy action plan provided by your allergist. Call emergency services immediately if you experience symptoms of an allergic reaction — do not wait to consult this app.
Not Medical Advice
Nothing in AllerAlerts — including risk assessments, allergen information, severity levels, or emergency plan templates — constitutes medical advice. This app is not a substitute for advice, diagnosis, or treatment provided by a qualified medical professional.
This Disclaimer Applies to Every Feature
This disclaimer applies to all results and features in AllerAlerts, including AI dish lookup, menu scan, strip test analysis, community reports, allergen profile assessments, and triage summaries.
AllerAlerts — A reference tool to help you make more informed decisions. Not a replacement for medical care or your epinephrine auto-injector.
Community Content Policy
Effective date: April 12, 2026
What Community Reports Are
Community reports are personal observations submitted by individual users. They are not verified by AllerAlerts, not laboratory results, and not guarantees of allergen presence or absence. Every report includes a prominent disclaimer to this effect.
What You May Submit
You may submit a report if you have personally observed the allergen situation, the information is accurate to the best of your knowledge, and it relates to a real dish at a real establishment.
Prohibited Content
Inaccurate reports — fabricated, exaggerated, or unverified allergen claims
Defamatory content — false statements that could harm a restaurant or individual
Misleading "safe" reports — intended to mislead users with allergies
Offensive or harmful content — hateful, discriminatory, harassing, or violent content
Personal information — names or contact details of private individuals
Spam — promotional or irrelevant content
Accuracy Responsibility
When you submit a report, you confirm it reflects your honest experience. People with life-threatening allergies may rely on your report. Submitting a false or misleading report could cause serious harm.
Moderation
Any user can flag a report. Flagged reports are reviewed by AllerAlerts moderators. We may remove reports, warn accounts, or terminate accounts for violations. For urgent safety concerns: hello@alleralerts.com
Retention of Flagged and Removed Content
When a report is removed following a moderation review, it is deleted from public view immediately. A record of the removal (including the report content) may be retained internally for up to 90 days for abuse prevention, legal compliance, and moderator review. After 90 days, removed content is permanently deleted. To request deletion of any retained record, contact hello@alleralerts.com.
Indemnification
By submitting a report, you agree to indemnify AllerAlerts from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your report, including defamation or harm to third parties.
Restaurant Owners
If you believe a report about your establishment is false or defamatory, contact hello@alleralerts.com with details. We will review within 5 business days.
Consequences of Violations
Violations may result in: removal of the report without notice, a warning, temporary suspension, permanent termination of your account, or referral to law enforcement where required by law. We will cooperate with lawful law enforcement requests in accordance with applicable law and our Privacy Policy.
Minor Users and Community Reports
Users between the ages of 13 and 17 may use AllerAlerts with parental or guardian consent. However, community report submission is only available to users aged 18 and older. This restriction exists because community reports include location data and personal observations published to other users.
If you are under 18 and have submitted a community report, please contact us at hello@alleralerts.com and we will remove it promptly.
